About

Set in an oscillating spectrum of genre, Glasshealer refuses to settle. Their biting, yet sometimes flowery, apocalyptic lyrics and demanding instrumentation mesh together to form their brazen approach to music. Segments of uncompromising noise rock can swiftly pivot into careful ballads followed by grandiose electronic orchestrations. By recording, mixing and mastering their records on their own, Glasshealer is in full control of their sound.

Their debut EP Cranberry Stream took place during a time of invention for the band as they explored different areas of influence from their punky “Empty Bottles” to the glitchy dance single “Shifter.” As the pandemic began soon after, Glasshealer had to find inventive ways to maneuver the challenges it brought. Through Zoom meetings and carefully planned recording sessions, the band embraced these difficulties in their second EP But the Weight of Comfort Pulled Me Back Down, focusing on darker textures and moody atmospheres while maintaining their genre bending madness with yearning tracks like “Late” and the massive “Release: Open: Bury.” With this release they booked their first tour in the Spring of 2022, traveling through the East Coast and Midwest. In the same year, the band won “Best Experimental Artist” in the Austin Music Awards.

Soon after the tour ended, Glasshealer took time to re-evaluate their sound and their goals for the future. Working an entirely new set, the band reemerged with the track “Ever Love, Ever Have,” a whirlwind of emotions moving from groove rock, to lush sentimentality and an explosive post-hardcore ending. As they continue to work on their music, the band plans on recording their debut album Glasshealer during the summer and fall of 2023, furthering their unique sonic exploration.
